Fair trade from the Amazon
A way of exporting that connects producing communities with international buyers.
Ingecons Global Commerce trades under fair-price-to-producer, bioeconomy and circular-economy principles: transparent relationships with producers and buyers, responsible use of Amazonian resources and direct work with local communities.
How we understand fair trade
A real story, not a slogan
Ingecons Global Commerce was born from the experience of a producer family. For 8 years it has grown eddo in the Ecuadorian Amazon and often had to sell it below its production cost, which impoverishes families that are already poor. So it created a company that pays a fair price to those who produce and takes these products to buyers abroad.
Competing on volume with large exporters is not our path. Our proposal is the story behind the product: where it comes from, who produces it and how it reaches the buyer.
We want buyers in China, Japan and other markets to get to know the communities behind each product.
What we strive for
- Direct work with local producers
- Transparency about origin
- Long-term relationships
- Contributing to the region's development
Exporting without leaving anyone behind: that is the dream behind Global Commerce.
